2016 is looking like the year of grime and the summer’s music game is heating up as Coco releases his track ‘My G.’ Coco has been getting well-deserved attention this year, being named one of Annie Mac’s artists to watch in Mixmag and receiving much support from BBC Radio 1, the release of this track signals Coco’s takeover of the grime scene.
Last week Coco played the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury, and BBC Introducing in Sheffield’s Christian Carlisle has had nothing but love and praise for the Sheffield MC, saying that “Even possessing a huge knowledge of the Grime scene [Carlisle] could still identify the incredible talent in Coco. He just makes everything he does seem so effortless.” A listen to his Fire in the Booth session on BBC Radio 1 Xtra or any of his previous tracks, such as ‘Target Practice’ make this clear, but with his latest track, Coco ensures that his place as one of the best rising grime stars can’t be ignored.
