Ariana Grande being sued for copyright infringement over song ‘One Last Time’

Pop sensation Ariana Grande is currently facing a lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement for her massively successful 2015 hit song ‘One Last Time‘.

Songwriter Alex Greggs, who has previously worked with a list of mega stars such as Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga, is accusing Ariana of ripping off a song he had written for US singer Skye Stevens ‘Takes All Night‘ which was released two years ago.

According to documents obtained by eonline, while referring to the song’s chorus, Greggs claims the similarities between the songs are,

“So striking that it is highly likely the works were not created independently of one another.”

The lawsuit also states the following,

”Although the rhythm of the two compositions may differ to accommodate the prosody of the lyrics, there is substantial similarity on the most important rhythmic placement of the pitches on strong melodic and harmonic beats…”

Gregg is currently suing for a huge slice of Ariana’s ‘One Last Time‘ song profits and it’s been reported that he is seeking $150,000 per infringement. David Guetta, Republic Records and Universal Music Group are also involved in the lawsuit as they were involved in the producing of the track.

The two tracks ‘One Last Time‘ and ‘Takes All Night’ are linked below, see what you think. We hope Ariana can get herself out of this one.

We’re rooting for you girl!

Much love!
