Now that we’ve arrived at February 2018, we’ve already been hit with some fantastic new game releases like Monster Hunter: World and Dragon Ball Fighterz but there are tonnes more great new games that are soon to grace our screens in 2018.
Here’s a list of the eight most anticipated game releases of 2018.
#8 Detroit: Become Human
This game is a PS4 exclusive and was announced at E3 2017.
It has said to be an incredibly emotional experience as you control different androids who are trying to make their way in the future metropolis of Detroit.
The game is based on making choices that will determine the fate of the character and of the city and it has promised to be a unique take on the technological future of our planet.
It has no exact release date yet but Sony have said that we can expect it to be released in Q1/Q2 of 2018.
#7 Spiderman
If you’ve seen any of the trailers for Spiderman yet then you will undoubtedly be excited for this major release.
Swinging from building to building with incredible graphics and high definition; this game is certainly not going to disappoint.
This is another PS4 exclusive as Sony seem to be on the ball this year!
However, this one also has no definite release date yet and they have just advised that it will be ready to play at some stage in 2018.
#6 Red Dead Redemption 2
This is the sequel to the extremely popular Red Dead Redemption which we all enjoyed back in 2010. This is an open world action game that takes place in the wild, wild west.
Hardcore fans of this game have been waiting for this sequel for a very long time and were very disappointed when the release date, which was initially 2017, was delayed for another year.
Currently, the release date stands firm at October 26th 2018 so let’s hope it stays that way!
#5 Far Cry 5
The Far Cry games have been a huge success so far for Ubisoft and now Far Cry 5 will be the eleventh instalment and the fifth main titled game.
In this one, you will take on a fanatical cult that are set in a small town in Montana, USA.
Ubisoft have said “It’ll be wild and it’ll get weird, but as long as you keep your wits about you, the residents of Hope County can rest assured you’re their beacon of hope” which sounds very promising to me!
This game will be available on March 27th 2018.
#4 Pokemon for Nintendo Switch
If you didn’t already have enough reasons to buy a Nintendo Switch, this game should be the icing on top of the cake.
GameFreak have confirmed that there is a Pokemon game in development for the Nintendo Switch.
We don’t know too much about it yet but we do know that this will be the first time in history that Pokemon is coming to a console and we couldn’t be more excited!
They’ve said that it could be released in 2018 so let’s keep our fingers crossed!
#3 State Of Decay 2
Okay so I’ll admit that the original State of Decay, although it was a fantastic game, did have it’s fair share of flaws and technical problems.
Despite this, the game had a great atmosphere with engaging characters and it had a unique level of suspense and tension.
It’s sequel is said to be a lot more polished and also it will have a feature that allows you to team up with up to three other players which definitely sounds very exciting.
It has no specific release date but it will be ready to buy in 2018.
#2 Sea of Thieves
This is a game that, personally, I am very excited by.
It’s due to be released on March 20th 2018 and it has been gathering a lot of attention.
It is a unique multiplayer game that will allow the player to take on the life of a pirate.
You will encounter exotic islands, hidden treasures, riddles and shanties and there will be other pirate crews that you can decide to befriend or you can also attack them and steal their coins and food if you’d prefer!
It will definitely be a riveting gaming experience.
#1 We Happy Few
This may be the first game on this list that you haven’t heard about yet.
You can currently purchase it in it’s early access form but the fully finished game won’t be released until April 13th 2018.
This game has been long awaited due it’s complete uniqueness.
You play as three interwoven characters in 1960s England. Only, everyone around you is on a drug called “Joy” that makes them happy as they gleefully gallop through the down trodden streets of a war-torn world.
If they catch you not taking your drugs, they will proceed to chase you down the streets and beat you silly.
You must progress through the city, picking up the pieces of your old life and trying to blend in with those around you.
This game will be absolutely phenomenal and many of us are counting down the days for the full release!
